Groove Is In Our Heart

This February, Wednesdays at the Django will feature modern, electric bands with an emphasis on groove.

From acclaimed newcomers on the rise, to established masters of their craft, Wednesdays at the Django will be full of musical surprises, celebrating the best of contemporary, beat-based jazz this February.

Upcoming artists for our Wednesday Groove series include rising star keyboardist David Zheng (Feb 5), who has been wowing audiences with his singular stew of jazz, soul, R&B and more. Zheng’s band often included guest vocalists for an even wider range of sonic exploits.

Also on Feb 12 is famed NYC bassist, composer and bandleader Conrad Korsch and his Electrio. Korsch, best known for his decade-plus stint as Rod Stewart’s bassist and Musical Director, makes his Django leader debut with a genre-bending band anchored by his deft bass playing and collective group interplay.

Other acts in our Wednesday Groove series include veteran Israeli guitar ace Oz Noy and his trio on Feb 12, young keyboard sensation William Hill III and his Groovtet on Feb 19, and ace of bass Al Carty, known for his work with Ed Sheeran, Rob Thomas, Alicia Keys and countless others on Feb 26.

Our Wednesday Groove series is what contemporary jazz sounds like today – fresh, funky and fun, with a heavy dose of electric energy.

Don’t miss these acts and more on Wednesdays starting in February!
