03.31.21
We are jazzed to announce The Django will reopen on April 1st with live performances Thursday through Saturday. Come enjoy dinner, libations and live jazz in the heart of TriBeCa. Here’s what we have lined up for opening weekend:
The Django All-Stars is a group that features some of the most sought-after musicians in New York City (and throughout the world). This sextet, led by saxophonist and Django music curator Ken Fowser, features Bruce Harris on trumpet, Mark Whitfield on guitar, Anthony Wonsey on piano, bassist Alex Claffy, and drummer Joe Farnsworth. For this special performance, they come together as one unified band to celebrate a most worthy cause, the reopening of The Django on Thursday, April 1st.
Next up for opening week, Grammy Award-winning tenor saxophonist Wayne Escoffery will make an appearance on The Django stage on Friday, April 2nd leading a quartet featuring Paul Bollenback on guitar, Pat Bianchi on organ, and Willie Jones III on drums. On Saturday night, it’s Time to Swing, with drummer Joe Farnsworth for a special Latin-tinged quintet featuring Peter Bernstein on guitar, Emmet Cohen on piano, Peter Washington on bass, and special guest Maurice Herrera on congas.
Setting the Stage — Prioritizing the wellbeing of our guests, team members and community continues to be center stage for us and, with that, offering a sense of security and confidence that we are taking the best of care. We have made necessary changes to our run of show through enhanced safety and cleanliness procedures, team member training and education, and we have implemented new technology with convenience and innovation in mind. Air quality is being monitored with high-performance UV and Atmosair filters to increase air circulation in the building and all equipment is maintained to DOH standards. Capacity restrictions, reconfigured floor plans and floor markers are in place to ensure social distancing. We require guests to wear masks upon entry, exit, while ordering, & anytime you are not eating or drinking. We also require temperature checks and tracing forms upon arrival. Reservations are required as we are operating at a limited capacity and can be made on OpenTable. You can read our full guide to health & safety here.
We look forward to welcoming you back!
