Matt Cappy is a highly respected trumpeter and composer from Berlin, NJ who broke into the national touring scene playing with Philadelphia legend Jill Scott and her first touring band "Fat Back Taffy." Matt has released two albums to date. 'Church And State' (Ropeadope 2017) and 'Tales Of The Tape' (East Philly Records 2021) both produced by Cappy. A forward-thinking musician who blends jazz, jam & soul, with hip-hop, latin and afro cuban rhythms, Matt is constantly looking to perfect an infectious mix of melody and rhythm. Behind his undeniable hook lines sung through his warm, staple trumpet sound, Matt takes his audiences to beautiful places of togetherness amongst head knocking grooves from his original progressive jazz compositions.
